If I could ask God for something, I would ask Him to let us choose how our stories end. But, the sad reality is, we don’t ever have a choice, even when we think we do. Or maybe, we do have a choice, but, we are destined to make the wrong ones at times. Or maybe, all our choices have already been made for us.
I remember how even as a child, I would dread seeing these words at the end of a movie. Life would come to a halt for a few seconds and with a heavy heart I’d let the feeling sink, that something beautiful had come to an end.
Often in life, we are afraid of that very end, we become so used to the idea of a thing that we are never really ready to accept the end of it. We accept people in our lives, not knowing the consequences of opening our doors to strangers, we let them in. And at times we form bonds in a short span of time and we think of these bonds, these relations as immortal, when actually they’re as fragile as a leaf in autumn.
We let people in and we think our movie would never end. But even movies have their twists and turns. Life happens and it happens when you least expect it. And when these mortal relations are breathing their last, you are devastated and you just can’t bring yourself to see THE END on the screen, and you rewind and rewind and rewind to go back to your favorite scenes, to be able to cherish them again and to relive them. But after numerous and desperate attempts, you realize what you had is gone. You realize from here on, it’s only the fragments of something beautiful that you once had, that’s all that would remain with you, forever.
Such is life, people mess up, you mess up. And if you ever are at the point where you mess up bad, like real bad.
And you’re hurting and your heart is a wreck and you’re constantly finding reasons to blame yourself for something you did or didn’t do and you think you need to punish yourself. STOP! Don’t be too hard on yourself, don’t punish yourself, GOD has a way for that and if you deserve to be punished He will punish you, you don’t need to take His job in your hands.
FORGIVE YOURSELF and FORGIVE EVERYONE!
Because, everything that is killing you is inside you, only you have the power to let it go and that only happens when you learn to forgive people no matter what shit they put you through. FORGIVE and give them a second chance, give yourself a second chance, give life a second chance. I can’t promise you that everything will magically be okay the next moment, it won’t! All I know is it’s the first step to self-healing and making peace with your mistakes.
If ever you find yourself at the crossroads, where you need to choose a path either to The End or to a Second chance, choose the latter.
For, what if you ever need a second chance, would you not want it?
But then again how do you know who deserves a second chance?
